Bringing God’s Word to Families Living in Slavery
In many brick kiln areas of Pakistan, thousands of Christian families are living in bonded labor (modern-day slavery). These families work long hours under harsh conditions, often trapped in debt for generations. Many of their children are born into the same cycle of poverty and labor.
One of the greatest challenges these families face is lack of education. Most adults and many children cannot read or write, which makes it very difficult for them to read the Bible and grow in their faith.
At Christ Mission in Pakistan, our heart is not only to help families physically by supporting them with food, education, and freedom from slavery, but also to strengthen them spiritually through the Word of God.
The Vision: Audio Urdu Bible
To reach these precious families with the Gospel, we have started the Audio Urdu Bible Project.
The Audio Urdu Bible is a small, simple device that allows people to listen to the entire Bible in the Urdu language. This is a powerful blessing for families who cannot read but still long to hear God’s Word.
These devices are especially helpful in brick kiln communities because they:
• Play the Holy Bible in Urdu audio
• Are easy to use, even for those who cannot read
• Work with solar charging, which is important in areas without electricity
• Include a built-in light, helpful for families living in dark or rural conditions
Through this device, families can gather together and listen to the Word of God, learn about Jesus Christ, and grow in faith.
Why This Project Is Important
For many enslaved and freed families, this may be the first time they hear the Bible in their own language.
When families listen to God’s Word, it brings:
Hope in difficult circumstances
Spiritual encouragement and faith
A deeper understanding of God’s love
Strength to continue their journey toward freedom and dignity
Our prayer is that every Christian family in the brick kiln communities will have the opportunity to hear the Word of God.
